Common patterns

Overactive bladder causes urgency with or without leakage; stress incontinence causes leakage on coughing or exercise; mixed symptoms are common.

Treatment

Treatment is stepwise — starting with bladder training, fluid advice and pelvic floor exercises, and progressing to medication or advanced treatments where needed.
